		<description>Dear MakingRoom Magazine,

Thank you for your interest regarding our project. We have a major update coming to our website this weekend and I wanted to tell you a little more about our project in the meantime to hopefully clarify what it is about!

David

Pause, to begin is a photographically driven publication with an
emphasis on the process of making work founded by Ethan Aaro
Jones and David Jonathan Wright.

From an online application process, Ethan and David select 15
photographers and travel thousands of miles in the spring of 2008 to
review the selected photographers&#039; work in-person and learn about
their process for creating.

All 15 visited photographers&#039; work is exhibited online at
pausetobegin.com starting April 2008. A select number of the 15
visited photographers are published in a limited edition, hardbound
book.

The first year of Pause, to begin culminates in November 2008 with a
release celebration for the limited edition, hardbound book at a
to-be-announced gallery comprised of an exhibition of prints, audio,
and video from the selected applicants, and work Ethan and David
create during the making of Pause, to begin.

<description>Thank you for posting about Pause, to begin. As co-founder I might be able to shed some light on Pause, to begin as a project.

Pause, to begin benefits the artist in many ways:
1. Published in a limited edition, hardbound book.
2. Gallery exhibition of selected artists&#039; work
3. Online exhibition and multimedia interviews of selected artists at
pausetobegin.com.
4. Published in the Pause, to begin newsletter.
5. Targeted publication distribution to advertising agencies, galleries,
magazines and museums.

On top of the benefits to those applying, we hope to bring attention to the process that the selected people make their work. In an attempt to overcome the possible lack of personal touch that the online application process provides we are going to visits and spend a day talking about process and photography with the finalists to get to know both them and their work better. Our other main goal is to focus on what we consider to be &quot;thoughful&quot; photography, not impersonal work. And lastly, we hope to market this project well so the people and ideas in it are better noticed and understood.

If you have anymore questions please contact me, I would love to discuss it further. Thank you again for linking to our site.
