The Magazine

MakingRoom is a magazine about the process, intention and results of image-making. You'll see quite a bit of photography here but MakingRoom is at heart an “Art Magazine” and will be open to the discussion of film, video, painting, and more. It’s our hope to comfortably view and examine the range of individual processes that lead to powerful visuals. We plan to talk fairly plainly but with depth to artists at all stages of their practice.

MakingRoom is published online (ISSN 1712-4107) at makingroom.com and plans to publish a single original-content journal each year (ISSN 1712-4093) beginning in 2008.

MakingRoom is published and edited by Davin Risk. MakingRoom was founded in 2005 by Davin Risk and Ross Evertson.

We would like to hear from artists and writers who are interested in contributing to MakingRoom. Contact us with links to your work or with a basic outline for your project or article. We also welcome suggestions of artists you think should be featured in MakingRoom.
